Description:
Rosemount Analytical 499 series dissolved oxygen, ozone, and chlorine sensors work with Rosemount Analytical analyzers to provide high accuracy dissolved oxygen, dissolved ozone and chlorine readings. With a wide range and numerous mounting options, 499 series sensors are excellent choices for a wide range of applications.
The 499 series are membrane-covered amperometric sensors. Maintenance and calibration is fast and easy with no special tools required. Because the rate of diffusion of oxygen through the membrane depends on temperature, an integral Pt100 RTD measures the temperature to compensate for membrane permeability. Response to pressure changes has also been minimized by incorporating a system which balances pressure inside the sensor with sample pressure. The Model 499 sensor is available with a Variopol (VP) water-tight connector.
The Rosemount Analytical 499 series dissolved oxygen, ozone and chlorine sensors are available in multiple models:
The Model 499ADO sensor is intended for the continuous determination of dissolved oxygen between 0-20 ppm. The primary application is aeration basins in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants. The 499ADO has a basic accuracy of ±0.2 ppm at 25°C and a repeatability: ±0.05 ppm at 25°C. Response time is 25 sec to 63% of final reading at 25°C. The 499ADO is suitable for temperatures from 32 to 122°F and pressures from 0 to 65 psig.
The Model 499ATrDO sensor is intended for the determination of trace (ppb) levels of dissolved oxygen in steam power plants and high purity cooling water. The 499AtrDO has a range of 0.1 ppb to 20 ppm with basic accuracy of ±1 ppb (for samples under 20 ppb) or ±5% (for samples over 20 ppb). Response time is under 20 sec to 90% of final reading at 25°C. The 499ATrDO is suitable for temperatures from 41 to 113°F and pressures from 0 to 65 psig.
The Model 499AOZ sensor is intended for the continuous determination of dissolved ozone. The primary application is ozonation basins in municipal water filter plants. Ozone is also used as a disinfectant in bottling and food processing plants. The 499AOZ has a range of 0 to 3 ppm with a repeatability of ±2% of reading at constant temperature. The response time is 30 sec to 90% of final reading at 25°C. The 499AOZ is suitable for temperatures from 32 to 122°F and pressures from 0 to 65 psig. Because ozone standards do not exist, the sensor must be calibrated against the results of a laboratory test run on a grab sample of the process liquid.
The Model 499ACL-01 sensor is intended for the continuous determination of free chlorine (hypochlorous acid plus hypochlorite ion) in water. The primary application is measuring chlorine in drinking water. The sensor can also be used to monitor dechlorination processes. The sensor requires no acid pretreatment and can measure free chlorine in samples from 6.0 to 9.5 pH and in some cases 10.0. Accuracy depends on the accuracy of the chemical test used to calibrate the sensor. Response time is 22 sec to 95% of final reading at 25°C.
The Model 499ACL-02 sensor is really an iodine sensor. The iodine comes from the reaction between halogen oxidants in the sample and the acetic acid/potassium iodide reagent added by the TCL sample conditioning system. The 499ACL-02 total chlorine sensor has a temperature rating of 32 to 122°F, a pressure rating of 0 to 65 psig and a standard 25ft cable. Wetted parts are gold, Noryl (PPO), Viton, EPDM and silicone.
The Model 499ACL-03 is intended for the determination of monochloramine in drinking water and wastewater. The linear range is 0 to 15 ppm(mg/L), 2% linearity and the accuracy depends on the accuracy of the laboratory method used to calibrate the sensor. The response time is less than 30 seconds to 90% of the final reading (o to 2 ppm) 25°C. The Model 499ACL-03 has a temperature range of 32 to 122°F and a 25 ft cable.
